Many "partners" are involved in local strategic partnerships and they include local authorities, other public bodies, local businesses and third sector organisations (voluntary and community).
Some partners have a "duty to co-operate" in that they must be involved (Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007) in helping to determine any targets in the Local Area Agreement which relate to them and must co-operate with the responsible local authority.
The type of involvement appropriate is likely to differ depending on the body or organisation in question and the characteristics of the local area. Therefore, the details need to be agreed between the partners at a local level.
