The Somerset Strategic Partnership (SSP) is a Local Strategic Partnership (LSP).
An LSP is a single body that brings together, at a local level, councils, statutory agencies (including health, police, fire and rescue) and the private, community and voluntary sectors.
LSPs form part of a complex local governance network and bring together different agencies to deal with complex local challenges and tackle local problems. The agencies work together in "partnership" to ensure that they deliver local results whilst achieving the benefits of joint working with minimum costs and administration.
A Local Strategic Partnership brings a complex network of local agencies together to achieve common goals.
