Somerset Sustainable Community Strategy                                   Impact Assessment

An Impact Assessment is a process through which the impact of a service area, plan, policy or partnership on service users and employees can be assessed.

All public authorities have to complete impact assessments and because the SSP through the SCS is completing a service or function on behalf of Somerset County Council it is required to complete an Impact Assessment.

The purpose of the assessment is to think carefully about the likely impact of our work on those who live in, work in or visit the County of Somerset.  It involves anticipating the effects of the Strategy on particular groups and making sure that as far as possible any negative consequences are eliminated

or minimised, and that we maximise opportunities to promote equalities.
