What are we doing to prepare for the CAA?
The CAA is intended to lessen the inspection burden placed on public sector bodies, with inspectorates forming judgements based on their knowledge and understanding of the area and organisations. It is intended that existing resources be used to inform the assessment with the need to complete specific activities purely for the inspection being removed.
A key aim of the CAA is to provide a sharper focus on the accountability of partners for their contribution to improved outcomes. A CAA partnership group has been established and is made up from key officers from across the public organisations working in Somerset. One role of this group is to co-ordinate information to ensure all partners can demonstrate how they are working towards delivery of shared outcomes for local people.
